After 25 years the Poughkeepsie Railroad Bridge will reopen as a pedestrian
walkway the weekend
of October 2, 2009.
The Walkway committee is considering an event to honor Hudson Valley
firefighters, particularly
those that fought the bridge fire, if enough firefighters are
interested in participating.
If you are a Hudson Valley
firefighter and are interested in participating in this
event, please contact me. Please also indicate if you would take
part in a
firefighters' lunch or dinner event at a restaurant near the bridge.
